Municipal Director Plan of João Pessoa
The revision of the Municipal Director Plan of João Pessoa and its complementary legislation included phases of data gathering, evaluation, elaboration of the city’s current diagnosis, and the creation of guidelines and proposals for the territorial reorganization and urban growth management.
The Plan prioritized sustainability, addressing factors such as housing, sanitation, public economy and finance, urban infrastructure, the environment, mobility and public services. To achieve this, it combined technical reports with input from the population gathered through community meetings, workshops and public hearings.
The ultimate goal of the Plan revision was to ensure the fulfillment of the social functions of the city and land by fostering a sustainable, resilient, participatory and equitable João Pessoa for all.
